OSAAT DT project stars and stripes

Hello! Look at me posting on a sunday lol (well actually it's a pre scheduled post so don't shoot me if my project doesn't appear at the relevant challenges straight away I will link it up when I get home from work!) Today is a new challenge over at One stitch at a time and the challenge this wk is to use stars and stripes on your project. I decided to make a gift bag this time and have used the stunning papers from Susan's Crafty chaos designs which you can purchase here I have used the fragrant mint collection but I found it hard to choose as her papers are all so gorgeous!!

The stripes on my bag are courtesy of Susans lovely papers and my stars are my cut out centre star which I have printed Stitchys Silhouette "reach" onto vellum and glittered around, she is available from the stitchy bear store too. I have also punched stars of vellum and stickled, joined together by chains and jump rings and finished off with a silver star charm for the long bag charm at the side. My flowers are wild orchid crafts and my lace is from stash. I have taken a photo in evening sunlight so you can see how it shines through the vellum.

My sentiment tag was made with a stampin up stamp, some embroidery thread and eyelets.

I am putting this into Pollycrafts challenge of anything but a card using glitter and or lace, I don't however want to win so don't put me into the running folks give someone else a chance as the prize is the new kits from the creative cottage and I have all these courtesy of Tracy lol! Cake number 2 and communion card

Hi everyone! So sorry for the late post it has been a busy old day! I would like to post a card though that I have made for my daughter's friend who is taking her first holy communion this sunday. Apologies for having to use the flash in the photo! I didn't follow any sketch or really have any challenges in mind when making this card but it does fit quite well into papertake weeklys challenge of ice cream flavours (strawberry an vanilla!)

I have used this beautiful Whiff of joy stamp I got over at simon says stamp coloured with prismas and sparkles. My paper is pink petticoat and k&co, lace from stash, flowers from wild orchid crafts and sentiment computer printed, everything distressed with antique linen.

This is cake number 2, which I hope they like! You really cannot imagine how hard it is to roll fondant onto a ball shaped cake! It's not brilliant but I managed to hide most of the really bad bits lol! He is a footie fan so this seemed appropriate!

Hiolette's birthday was a success and she loved the cake! I don't think I want to look at another cake now for atleast a month lol!

Lastly I did say I had some more news, well my lovely friend and fellow creative cottage DT member Linda is opening up her own shop, what a fabulous Venture! It's a summer house within Bay tree farm garden centre,A120/Coggeshall Road, Stisted, Braintree, Essex. At the moment she is just starting out and would appreciate anyone local to her popping down and taking a look but she will be doing mail order purchases. She officially opens this weekend wow! Here is a piccy of the store in progress!

What has this all got to do with me? Well Linda has put together a design team to make cards to showcase the products she has on offer and she has very generously asked me to be on it woo hoo! So watch this space for future creations with Lindas products!
Thanks loads again for coming by to pay me a visit, take care everyone, hugs Rebekah x

A fathers day card and cake number 1!

Good evening everybody! I'm sitting here hyperventilating, I'm not sure if it's the fact that I have to make ANOTHER cake tomorrow for my friends hubbys 40th or the fact that I just watched Twilight AGAIN, actually I'm going for the latter, especially as everytime I open my blog, Edward jumps out at me, oh the shame! Ha!
Anyway, acting much more like a grown woman, here is the cake I have made for hiolettes birthday tomorrow! It didn't go quite as planned, mini marshmallows are supposed to stack up and make turrets but mine were all misshapen and refused to stand straight or stick together so plan B was put into action!

The cake has a multitude of edible glitter on it and really sparkles when I go downstairs and put the kitchen light on! The rocks are tutti fruttis too, yum!

On to my fathers day card, I followed the sketch this week at Create 4 fun using nitwits collections papers and this Andy stamp from pink gem designs, this is also for stamptaculars challenge of a tribute to fathers, Totally Gorjuss One for the boys, Cupcake crafts one for the boys, incy wincys challenge of one for the guys and a crafty little places challenge of one for the boys too!

My buttons and ribbon are from stash and Andywas coloured with prismas. My sentiment stamp is this months freebie over at the creative cottage there are a stack to choose from so grab them now!

Thanks again for coming by! I hope tomorrow is a successful cake day too lol! Hugs to all Rebekah xxx

Creative cottage it takes two

Good morning everyone! It's wednesday which means another challenge over at the creative cottage challenge blog. Todays challenge is It takes two which has been set by the lovely Shelly. Your challenge (should you accept it!) is to make a card and matching something ie patterened envelope, notebook, bookmark, bag or box. Check out the dt work on the blog for some inspiration! I have chosen to make a mini box for a thankyou pressie to match my card, the template of which I got at the cutting cafe.

I have used brilliant fresh papers from the birthday wishes kit by the creative cottage, so cute and summery I love them! You can get those here. I have also chosen to use this uber cute stamp Chloe with ice cream from pink gem designs (sneaky doubling up on my DT work here lol!) My sentiment stamp is from my fabby set I won from waltzingmouse stamps. Flowers, gem brad and ribbon all from stash.

Chloe has been coloured with Prismas and my little star tags have been cut out from the birthday wishes kit also. I have followed the sketch this week over at friday sketchers and followed the theme of spots and stripes at Charisma. This also fits into Stampin 4 the weekends challenge of summer, Spoon full of sugars challenge of sunshine and stamp somethings happy somethings.

Thanks for coming by again, maybe my next post will be about the cakes but then I do have the urge to make more cards!! Hugs to everyone Rebekah x

1st card of the week and some news

Hi everyone! I'm apologising now if I'm not a brilliant blogger this wk! My dad is coming to visit tomorrow for the day and then on thursday it's Hiolette's 8th birthday which of course requires a cake and then my friends husbands 40th is on Friday which requires another cake so I'm likely to be up to my ams in flour and icing sugar this wk!! Anyway I have made a card today and it follows the sketch over at sketch saturday this wk. It is also for the crafty sentiments challenge of pink, black and white.

I was lucky enought to win again at crafty sentiments last wk but only through default as I was the ONLY entry! Anyway Suzette has relaxed the rules so we can use other stamps for the challenges but in order to be considered for their top 3 badge you have to use one of her stamps, which I have! My papers are pink peticoat, with a v small hint of rusty pickle! My image is sitting Amy from crafty sents. My flowers are wild orchid crafts and my sent stamp watzingmouse stamps (they are so lovely!!) My ribbon and gems are from stash, my image coloured with prismas.

On to my next bit of news and I am so lucky to have been chosen to be part of the One stitch at a time DT!! The announcement hasn't been made on the blog but many of our new DT are so eager to spread the news I thought I would join in! I think the fact that I have half the store stored on my hard drive and my OCD (obsessive Cullen disorder) swung it in my favour with stitchy lol!

I have even more news to tell but that will have to wait until Thurs lol! Check back later for that one! Hugs to everybody! Rebekah xx

I'm still alive!!!

Ha ha yep ladies I'm still here (just) after my 5k race yesterday! I have to say it was much easier than I anticipated but then I ran with my friend Myffi (middle) and we had to stop quite a bit as she had blisters and couldn't manage, at one point she ran barefoot! I even managed to put a massive sprint in at the end as I had conserved so much energy during the race lol! This is us gals in starbucks before the race started.

I managed to twist my ankle in the gutter less than 1k before the end of the race and tore a hole in my expensive running trousers! Only after the race and when the adrenaline had stopped pumping did I find my knee was bleeding and this morning I have a huge bruise and have to strap up my left ankle where it has been sprained!! Trust me!! The kids came to cheer me on at the end and here I am with the girls post race.

I will get a card made later I also have some exciting news but will let that wait for the time being!!
Hugs to all Rebekah xx

Another wedding card!

Hi everybody! It's friday and another wedding card from me! This is one that was ordered, it's a bit similar to one I posted a little while back as she wanted something similar to that. I haven't followed any sketches or any challenges really but I would happily pop this card into the cupcake challenge for dazzle us (should I be allowed a 2nd entry!) and also stamptaculars I do I do I do (again if I'm allowed again!)

This card is made with pink petticoat papers and some from stash, also heart vellum from stash, lots of sparkles to the edges! The image is that gorgeous one from Tiddlyinks again! Butterfly punched wih xcut, flowers and pearls from wild orchid crafts, lace and ribbon from stash!

A quick post from me as I have been busy with DT stuff today so not much time for other blog work! I like this card though so I hope they do too! Hugs to all wish me luck for sunday! Rebekah xx
