Black with 2

Morning everyone!
My apologies for being a bit late this morning with my post. Hubby and I decided to pop out and get some Mcdonalds for breakfast, (not the healthiest option but nice for a treat sometimes) and I forgot to schedule this last night after work.
I have something a little interesting and a little different to show you today.
I was approached by the lovely Eve to join her challenge blog Black with 2. It isn't one I had participated in before, as it was predominantly a scrapping challenge, but the concept was challenging and refreshing to me.
We are branching out to more card makers and it is such an interesting concept, I hope that like me, you will want to join in HERE.
So the concept is this.... use dominant BLACK with 2 other colours (only 5% white allowed) and this month we have the following colours for your inspiration..
And here is what I made for the challenge..
I love the striking colours against the black and was thrilled to challenge myself to use more black on my card. I have used papers from MME Indie Chic collection. My flowers are a selection at Wild Orchids with my stunning butterfly coming from Kays Kreative Korner.
I have used this gorgeous Tilda from the new love collection and have coloured her with prisma pencils. I used some kaisercraft postage stamps around the edge of the image (don't look carefully and see the black mark on her heart from the corner of the postmark stamp!) I have framed her in a nesties frame with some yellow acrylic paint around the edge.
Do check out the stunning scrap/card creations from the rest of the team and you have a whole month to join us so why not challenge yourself to using black with 2!
I am entering this into..
Incy wincy pearls and lace, Bearly mine hearts galore, My time to craft things with wings, Ladybug crafts ink female, partytime tues anything goes and Simon says stamp anything goes.
There is a new challenge today too over at Stampin for the weekend but I will showcase my card for that one tomorrow!
Thanks for coming by my blog again!
Hugs to all

  22. Oh my word, Rebekah - this stunning!

I have to admit I use black very, very rarely and when I do use it I use tiny bits (it just feels too stark to me) - but this amazing!

Will have to pop over the blog and take a look.

Hope you are fully recovered now and enjoying the weekend,

    Sarah
