Saturated Canary Good Vs Evil

Hi everyone! I wish I could say the sun is shining and I'm feeling great, but alas I have managed to get a stinking cold in the last couple of days and I feel rotten! I'm sure it will trudge it's way out of my system soon and it had better as I just don't have the time to be sitting around feeling sorry for myself!
I do wonder at all those people that say "If I didn't work I would get bored"! I love my job and it gives me the social side of my life that I need out of the house, and of course the money! However, I could NEVER get bored around here! If there isn't a tonne of things to do around the house, there is the dog to walk, all the lovely cards to make for DT work, all the commissions I'm making through my facebook page business, the pay it forward makes and alterable swaps, and even then I'm sure I could find a new hobby to start if I didn't have all this! I'm just glad my job is part-time!
On to the crafty stuff though..... the new challenge over at Saturated canary this time is GOOD Vs EVIL. Mmmmm I wasn't sure where to go with that either! It could be an evil(ish) image in cutesy colours or 2 opposing characters, or maybe just do something for the good or something for the evil, here is what I did.
I chose to use Vampire rose, a vampire is kinda evil but she is just too cute! I went down the dark side of monotone black & white but added a splash of lilac as the good trying to take over!
I used Black market paper society papers, flowers from WOC, butterfly from Kays and sentiment from SU.
Here is the cute vampire rose who is available in digi at the SC store or can also be purchased in rubba at Crafty Boots store. I have coloured her with prisma pencils and have added a stempelglede flourish stamp in black around the edge of the image.
I also wonder what pens people use when colouring B&W images with copics or pro markers. I only use pencils and I use ALOT when colouring an image like this. Below is a picture of my pencils out before colouring grouped into warm greys, french greys and cool greys, and yes, I did use all of these colours not including the lilacs!
I would like to enter this card into..
Whoopsidaisy add a sentiment, Love to create use twine, Bearly mine anything goes, My time to craft song or film inspired (Vampire rose is based on Rosalie from Twilight of course!), Party time tues anything goes and Simon says stamp anything goes.
Thanks so much for coming by my blog again everyone

Anything goes at Divas by Design

Hello everyone! It's the middle of the week and time is just running by too fast for me!
Have I stuck to my schedule/to do lists?! Well, I was doing so well and then we had half term! But I have been on top of a few cleaning duties this week, I just haven't managed to get any relaxing time in and I have a good few commissioned card orders to make behind the scenes!
However, it's challenge time again at
and this time we have the super easy challenge of
ANYTHING GOES
and we are sponsored by the wonderful Shape EZ templates at Whimsy who have given the DT some fabulous templates to play with for our challenge.
I have used the Gift pouch Template and have used some cheery Stampin up papers with a butterfly from E crafts, flower from Mulberry crafts and sentiment from SU. My handle is made from ribbon taped around wire to make it sturdy, though it looks a bit bent in these photos!
This is an adorable little template to make this cute pouch which is so perfect for a little gift like chocs or sweets.
Do check out the rest of the DTs creations at Divas they have made some absolute stunners and Tammy Louise from Shape EZ has joined in with us this week too!
Thanks so much from coming by my blog again everyone!

Card Mania GDT

Morning everyone, hope you had a fabulous weekend! It's still really cold here and we even had more flurries of snow but luckily nothing settled!
It is going to be eerie quiet here today (yay!) as hubby is in work and all the kiddies are back to school. I would like to say I am going to spend the day crafting, but normally when I get some quiet time I just want to chill out in front of the TV and have a warm drink! Of course that will be after I take that energetic husky for a walk!
Today, though, I have had the priviledge of being asked to be Guest DT over at Card Mania and they have the fabulous theme of fairies/butterflies this month and are sponsored by the brilliant Milk and Coffee.
Here is what I made for them..
I have used papers from Pink Paislee, flowers and cameo from WOC, butterfly from little snippets, Love letter stamps from Whimsy and sentiment from LOTV.
I have used this beautiful wee stamps fairy for my card (also available at Whimsy)and have coloured her with prisma pencils. I have used a stempelglede grunge swirl stamp around the edge of the image in victorian velvet DI.
Do check out what the rest of the talented DT have made and why not join in with the challenge?
I would like to enter this into..
Sweet stampin for a special lady, Whoopsidaisy make it girlie,  OSAAT use a digi, Sentimental sundays flowers, The squirrel and the fox fantasy, Alphabet challenge A is for anything with wings, Totally papercrafts a hope for spring, Delicious doodles flowers for spring and Simply create too mothers day.

Marvelous Magnolia - flowers

Happy Thursday everyone!
I hope everyone is having a good week so far! Mine is surprisingly shooting past even though the house is full of kiddies on half term! All we need now is for it to get a little warmer, the sun is often out but it's still pretty chilly out there!
We have a wonderful new challenge for you over at Marvelous Magnolia this week and it has to be one of my favourites, it's FLOWERS!
So I figured it was about time I started on some mothers day cards..
I just adore these Bazill basic vintage market papers sooooo pretty! I have also added lace and flowers from WOC, twine from dovecraft, pearls from prima and butterfly from Kays Kreative Korner.
My sweet Tilda with flower pot has been coloured with prisma pencils. My colours seem to be really washed out at the moment in my photos despite my photo software! I have used stempelglede stamps around the edge of my image in vintage photo DI.
Do check out what the rest of the team have created for this challenge and don't forget to join in with us this time for this easy challenge!
I would like to enter this into..
OSAAT make it girlie, Sentimental sundays lace and pearls, Bunny zoes flowers and pearls, Cutie pie pretty pastels, Bearly mine lace/ribbon/twine and The inky chicks mothers day.

Stampin for the weekend Distressed

Happy Friday everyone I hope you are all well out there in blogland!
I hope you all had nice Valentines day yesterday, those of you who choose to celebrate it!
We have a new challenge over at Stampin for the weekend today and we are super lucky to be sponsored by the superb Lilli of the Valley.
Our challenge this time is to get DISTRESSED so get out your inks, tear your edges and rough up your stash! We are also looking for a couple of new DT members so why not give it a go?!
As I said in my post yesterday I would be showing you what Valentines I made for the kiddies yesterday and here they are (warning a bit more photo heavy today!)
Here is my hanging valentines string ball! I saw something similar to this on PInterest for Easter baskets and wanted to try it for valentines. They are a bit bigger than I planned but I love how they have turned out! My distressed element is the handmade tag.
I made 3 of these as I have 3 kiddies, actually I made 5 balls but only made 3 tags. There are some tiny chocolates inside too but how did they get there?!
It's simple, although fiddly lol!
Just take a balloon and push inside the chocolates, small egg shaped ones work best to get inside the non inflated balloon. Then you blow up the balloon and the chocs are rolling about inside!
The string is crochet string (size3) soaked in sugar water. Boil 2 parts sugar to 1 part equal water for the solution. Then you wrap the string around the balloon, this part is icky sticky! Leave to dry for 24 hours then pop the balloon and take out the bits through the string holes. This part is also fiddly as I found my popped balloon wrapped itself around the chocs but with a lot of prodding and fiddling I managed to get out the bits of balloon, leaving the chocs inside the string balls!
Here you can just about see some chocs inside! There aren't many as it is hard to get them in non inflated balloons! I then tied a piece of ribbon to form a loop for the top and added a bigger ribbon for a bow to hide any unsightly knots.
I guess I should show you my tag though! I have used Tea Dye and Victorian Velvet DI along with a stempelglede flourish stamp and prima script stamp to the edges. I painted some white crackle paint in the middle and stamped over that with the "I love you" stamp which is Papertrey Ink. My heart is a TH Alteration die and my butterflies are Cheery Lynn which have all had Tea dye ink and crackle paint on them. I have added a rose, ribbon and lace to the top of the tag and some bling and pearls too.
I am entering this today into...
Paper shelter be my valentine, Addicted to stamps and more bingo (heart stamp love), flutterby weds hearts,  Charisma anything goes, MAWTT love is in the air, Crafty sentiments valentines, Sarah Hurley anything but  a card, Happy campers shabby chic and In the pink pink valentines.
Do check out what the rest of the team have made for this excellent challenge and please join us you have 2 wks to enter!

Love at Saturated Canary

Happy Valentines everyone!
We have never much been into the valentines thing here (me and hubby that is) but the kids love it and it is fast becoming a tradition that I make little valentines for them lol! I have also been making cupcakes etc but I have made them pre valentines.... maybe I will go and finish some more off this evening!
I have made some lovely gifts for the kiddies but you will have to wait until tomorrows post for that so do come back!
However I got up this morning to find a red rose at the bottom of the bed (aww) Hubby is on nights so I left him sleeping as he came in at 6am this morning and as I made way down the stairs so I followed a trail of roses! There was one in a plant, one at the PC desk, one at my crafting desk, in the bathroom etc etc. There was a little heart post it on my lappy saying I love you and even some gingerbread LOVE cookies by the TV with a heart post it saying for the kids! When Amelia went to school (she leaves first) and we opened the door another rose fell on to the floor! But this made 11 roses and I figured he bought the dozen but just couldn't find the other rose for the life of me! I searched everywhere but no rose and decided I would probably just have to ask him when he got up but on taking the other kiddies to school, I put on my coat and out popped number 12 rose from the sleeve of my jacket! Hubby has def out done himself this year!
So, following on our love theme for today that's what our challenge is over at Saturated Canary and I have the card I made for my hubby to show.
I have used lovely papers Basic Grey True love collection, Some flowers from Wild Orchids, a butterfly from little snippets, bling from Prima and a sentiment ticket from Wild Asparagus.
I have used this stunning digi image from Saturated Canary called love letters and I have coloured her with prisma pencils. I have edged in victorian velvet DI and used an SU flower stamp around the corners.
Do check out what the rest of the amazing team have made for this challenge, such pretty cards to look at!

Marvelous Magnolia Hearts

Hello friends!
Happy Thursday to you all!
I've not been feeling very organised at the moment, in fact, I have a hundred and one ideas floating about in my head of all the things I want to do. Crafty things, food type things, house type things etc etc. Maybe it is just a creative mind but I have all these good intentions and never seem to follow up on any of them, is anyone else as bad as me?!
I get all these fab ideas via pInterest and think "I'm def gonna do that" but do I?!!!
I want to do creative things other than make cards. I want to create photos with quotes and words on for art around the home. I want to make more home cooked foods (I even bought a slow cooker on monday!) I want to help my kids more with their education. I want to create moments in everyone's lives that they will remember forever! I want to be healthier and fitter. I know I'm a crazy woman!
Maybe this is why I got ill recently!
But I need to make lists so I can tick these things off. I need to plan out my day so I don't procrastinate and end up doing none of the above!
But I know I also need to find time to chill out and relax, I need to factor this into my list too!
If I manage to succeed in any of this I will let you know and I will let you know how I've managed it, maybe this is my late resolution to "be more pro active!" LOL
I do have a DT card for you today! We have a new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia which is
