Divas by Design and Midweek Magnolias

Hi everyone! Phew it's just getting busier by the minute in our house! I don't know how all of you are doing out there but the summer hols with the kids at home is keeping me on my toes to say the least!
I am even having an extra child over for a sleepover this week and we have had camping nights in the conservatory, nail painting and hair dyeing sessions and only really 1 week in!
So today I am combining my DT projects for Divas by Design (favourite colour combo) and Midweek Magnolias (fancy fold) and I am late with my post as I have been at work all day today!
This is the first time I have made one of these Criss cross cards inspired by my fab teamie Teresa who does lots of these just fabulously! I have used Tilda winter garden papers with butterfly from little snippets, small wooden kaisercraft frame under the image and flowers from the ribbon girl , prima and WOC.
My fab image has been coloured with prisma pencils and I have edged with shabby pink frantage. I have also used tattered rose crackle paint on the frame and all my edges.
Here is the inside with my cute sentiment from inkadinkado. I have chosen pink and white as my fave colour combo although really pink and anything would do!
Thanks for coming by my blog again friends do check out the challenges and great prizes!

C2CU Decades/era - 3+layers week 4

Hello everyone!
I am back today with my 2nd example for the last week of our July's Decades/era challenge with the twist of 3+ layers at C2CU
This is a bit out of the ordinary for me!
A little while back I joined a group on facebook to alter/create something for a swap. This had to be something with pages and the challenge was to create something with a steampunk theme (ugh!) Steampunk is definitely NOT my thing but it was good for the challenge so I made this fab notebook for the lovely Vicky who now has this in her possession.
I used Marianne's papers, ribbons and stencil doily die all from Crafts too. My wooden clock is prima, my butterfly from Kays Kreative Korner, some metal work from Tim Holtz and flowers from WOC.
This darling image is from Tiddlyinks, such a cutie and coloured with my prisma pencils. I have used some scroll stamps and 50c stamp from Watzingmouse around the edge. My little letters are from Adornits.
Of course I have maxed out on the layers again, making sure there is definitely more than 3 here!
Do join in with us over at crafts too and don't forget to tell us what era you are creating from!
Thanks so much for coming by my blog again friends!

Last day of school

Well it has been leading all up to this! It was my daughter's last day at primary school today and what an emotional one it was for everyone! They had a lovely leavers assembly with a collection of photos of them all from age 3 in nursery until now at age 11 and off to high school!
I gave home made presents to the teachers, along with the cards I showed you last week.
First of all I made cupcakes.
The rice paper sentiments I bought from e bay but the little icing pencils and apples I made myself.
This is them all boxed up for the taking. The little tags were a free download which I found via Pinterest. They are meant to put on the top of jars filled with sweets but they make superb tags too. You can also download them HERE
I also made the teachers this subway art....
Another amazing free download from HERE
Such a brilliant and unique idea for a teacher gift! All I had to do was buy a frame to put it in and that was it! I am sure they loved it too!
And here is my daughter with her friends (Hiolette is 3rd from left).
I am sure they will all love High school but it is such a big step for them all (and for me too!)
Thanks for coming by

Sparkle and Bling at SFTW

I'm a day late with my post for Stampin for the weekend but as I already posted twice yesterday I figured I would hold off until today for this one!
We have a new challenge for the next 2 weeks which is Sparkle and Bling and we are sponsored by Flat friends whose images the DT have used.
I decided to make a tag this time..
I made this to attach to a box of cupcakes for a teaching assistant that Caleb can give on Tuesday, his last day, although I have to get making those cupcakes first! I have used rose seam binding and flowers from WOC and my butterfly is from little snippets.
My sweet flat friends image has been coloured with prisma pencils and seemed just right for a tag for a box of cupcakes. I have added some shabby pink frantage around the edge of my image and have used some white crackle paint around the frame.
Do check out the cuties from the rest of my teamies!
Thanks for coming by my blog again

No Designer papers at a Creative Romance

For my Crafts too post please scroll down!....

Hi everyone, wow I've been on my blog a lot this week haven't I?! Don't be thinking I'm gonna make a habit of it though lol! I am hoping that the kids will join in with me for some crafty time during the summer holidays but my mojo does tend to wander off when I am getting drinks, food, refereeing arguments etc!
We have a CHALLENGE over at A Creative Romance today and I do mean a challenge! it's no DPs!
I actually dreaded the idea of doing this but then I thought, how often do you actually see the pretty papers on my card?! I have an uncanny way of covering them all up with embellies so I just figured I would use only plain cardstock and do the same as I normally do!
This card is for Caleb's teacher and I'm quite sad that she is leaving to go to another school as she was a fab teacher albeit a temporary one. I had to make it using a boy image (Caleb would have gone crazy otherwise!) but as it was for a female teacher I could still go a bit girlie with my embellies, though Caleb would not have had any pink on the card!
I have used plain white, blue and kraft cardstock, my butterfly is from little snippets, my wooden jigsaw pieces from crafty embellies and my flowers and jute from WOC.
My image is a super cute Bugaboo one, perfect for teacher cards and I have coloured him with prisma pencils. My cute little letters are adornits.
Do check out the fab inspiration from the rest of my teamies and there is a fab prize from Little darlings up for grabs if you join in with us!
Thanks so much for coming by my blog!

C2CU Decades - 3+ layers

Hello everyone, thanks for coming by to say hi again!
It's the second part of our monthly challenge over at Crafts too Challenge you and we are continuing our decades/era theme with a new twist of 3 or more layers.
I was so glad when I had established the "more" part of this challenge as I was dreading the idea of sticking to 3 layers alone! To me that is 1 dp, 1 image and possibly a ribbon or a bunch of flowers! that's is just tooooooo hard for me!
My decade this time is the 1950s. Just gotta love the inspiration I drew from my fab Marianne's 1950s papers and Marianne's ribbon (from crafts too) I even cut the vintage tag from a sheet of fab vintage/kitchen style tags from Marianne's, so fab! My flowers are a mixture, most of them from WOC. My butterfly is little snippets again. My clip at the top has been primed with gesso then painted with acrylic paint and I have used a papertrey ink sentiment.
This Kenny K super mom stamp screams the 50s to me, I just love her pinny (apron) and I have coloured her with prisma pencils.
I think the max amount of layers in any one part is actually 5 here including my 2 dp, cheesecloth and image. My tag, sentiment and flowers are all seperate from each other, ooo yes and I didn't count my pearls, see I couldn't have stuck to 3 layers if I tried!
Thanks again for coming by my blog lovely folks!

Glitz and Glamour at Saturated Canary

Yep, still busy, busy here! How are you all out there?!
Today at Saturated Canary we have a fab challenge of Glitz and Glamour, we want to see your creations sparkle!
Here is one of those many Thank you Teacher cards I need to be making!
I have used gorgeous MME papers here. I figured as the card was for a male teacher I had to go slightly less pretty but as it was coming from a girl I could still add some flowers! My bling flourish is prima, as is my fabric flower at the top. I have used a Papertrey ink sentiment on the image and a selection of flowers in the corner from WOC.
This is Grad girl from Saturated Canary, she has been coloured with prisma pencils and I promise that there is sparkle on her shoes and blue shoulder swags! I'm never any good at showing off sparkle in my photos!
This is for Hiolette's yr 6 teacher. he has done the most amazing job with the class that he has taught for the last 2 years, he is also the deputy head and is such an excellent teacher, I know she will miss him and her school quite a lot!
Do check out what stunning, sparkly creations the rest of my teamies have made!
Thanks for coming by my blog again friends!

Midweek Magnolias buttons and bows

Running late again! I'm a day late with my midweek magnolias card so I must apologize to my teamies for this! I thought I would have had it all sorted yesterday but I had to run some errands as I have had demands from my daughter about taking cupcakes in for the last day of school tomorrow, hence today will be spent over a hot stove mmmmm I can think of nothing better in this heat!
Anyway I have a card today made for some friends of ours who are waiting for  the imminent birth of their child any day now and they don't know the gender yet. As much as I would like to say that yes I know Prince William and Kate personally, alas it is not them!
I have used papers from MME Miss Caroline, I am actually nearing the end of this stack, aren't I good using up papers!! I have used butterflies from little snippets, sentiment from Papertrey Ink and flowers from WOC and LLC.
I have to say that as soon as I saw the wonderful baby cards being made with this stunning Magnolia stork stamp I just had to have it! I'm not a huge fan of baby stamps as a rule and have only recently bought that sleeping baby Tilda stamp that has been out years! But this one I just love! I have used Prisma pencils for colouring and have added some liquid pearls.
Do check out what the other teamies have made for the buttons and bows challenge and don't forget to join us to be in with a chance of winning a superb surprise package from Magnolia in Sweden!
Thanks for coming by friends!

Tags at Divas by Design

Hi everyone! How are all those of you in the UK enjoying this scorching weather?! I have to say I feel dreadfully guilty if I don't go outside as it is so rare for us to have such lovely weather in the UK! So if I'm kept busy in the house during the day, I at least try to have my lunch outdoors!
Well, we had something else to deal with yesterday in our busy and hectic schedule! Remember my daughter's nasty fall a few weeks back? Well the wound on her shoulder didn't heal quite so good and now she has impetigo! For those of you who don't know, it's a highly contagious surface skin infection which has now spread to her back, chest and underarms. Honestly the poor thing, like she hadn't had enough to deal with! So now she has to have anti biotics 4 times a day and cream 3 times a day and she still hasn't fully healed from the original fall!
So in between all this we had the year 6 leavers meal yesterday and 2 school discos. Today is community day at the high school and tomorrow is the year 6 end of term play. My eldest daughter has announced that she wants cakes making for the school party on friday and I am still lacking in teacher thank you cards!
But next week is my Nephews birthday so I made him a card for my DT contribution over at Divas by design this week where our challenge is to use a tag on your creation or just make a tag.
We are sponsored by Shape EZ who gave us templates to use.
I have used Bazill basics papers for this card, aren't they just the funkiest bright colours?! My tag is the Pedestal tag template from Shape EZ. I have also used a bunch of things from my stash and created some hand cut bunting too.
I love this fabby Haenglar image. I bought this one off a crafty friend as they are no longer available in this country. I am ashamed to say I have so many not even inked and they really are just so adorable, I loved colouring this little man with my prisma pencils.
Do check out what the rest of the team have done for this great challenge!
Thanks for coming by my blog!

C2CU 2nd week reminder Decades - Anything goes.

SSSSSHHHHHHH! It's oh so quiet around here isn't it?! Yes it's been a busy old time, like I said before so not much in the way of crafting for me! Will it slow down next week?! Not likely! We have leavers meal and discos on tuesday, end of term play on thursday, high school finishes on friday for us and then there is still regular trips to Tae kwondo, swimming oh yes and work lol! I also have to sort out those pesky teacher pressies and thank you cards!
But this glorious weather does nothing for my desire to stay indoors and craft either, although I do seem to have been bitten by the tidying and decorating bug?! I seem to want to clean and re vamp everything, spring cleaning come late?!
Anyway it's week 2 of the monthly challenge over at Crafts Too Challenge you and a reminder of our Decades/Era challenge with a twist of anything goes
It's the swinging 60s for me this time! All flower power and peace man!
I have used papers and ribbons from Marianne's (from Crafts too) along with flowers from WOC, butterflies from little snippets and a Marianne's Vintage doily die and pearls (also crafts too)
My fab image is MIC and has been coloured with prisma pencils. I have used an SU foliage stamp around the edge in spiced marmalade ink.
We do hope you can join us, the challenge lasts for a whole month and you can choose any decade/era you like but next week we have a different twist of 3 layers or more!
Thanks for coming by my blog again friends

A Creative Romance and Stampin for the weekend

Morning everyone!
Well, a busy end to a busy week for me and it doesn't stop there as next week is fun filled too lol!
So today I am combining my DT projects for A Creative Romance which has the theme of Ribbon/Twine (it's not my teams turn to join in but what the heck the more the merrier lol!) and we are sponsored by the ribbon girl. Whilst over at SFTW we have a photo inspiration/colour challenge for you (pink and green) and are sponsored by the amazing Saturated Canary.
I have used Bazill basics papers for my card, although I have done a fab job of covering them all up again! I have also used my Tim Holtz on the edge butterfly die, flowers from WOC and Kort & Godt and a bunch of other bits from my stash.
My sweet image is Winnie goes camping, she actually comes next to her caravan (I have the older version of this which is just as cute!) but as digis are so adaptable I cropped her so that I just had her to colour this time. I used prisma pencils as per the norm for my colouring.
Do check out the other fab creations from both my amazing teamies and don't forget to join us for the chance to win a fab prize!
Thanks for coming by my blog again friends!

Crafts-too challenge you Decades - anything goes

Happy Friday folks!
It's time for the brand new challenge blog Crafts too Challenge you to start and showcase some awesome products to you!
Our challenge for the whole month is Decades (choose a decade and run with it!) but there is a twist for the first 2 weeks it's anything goes with a decade and in 2 weeks time there will be another challenge twist (3 or more layers) with a decade.
I have chosen to make a tag for my first project to showcase to you..
I have gone for 1840s victorian as my decade, a bit different for me! I have used some stunning papers from Crafts too along with a fab Mariannes doily die (from crafts too) My Jute and flowers are WOC, I also have some flowers in there from Kort & Godt and crafts too. My organza rose seam binding is from LLC, my butterfly little snippets and my sentiment is waltzingmouse.
This fab vintage lady stamp is from Mariannes available at crafts too. I went for a brown/sepia colouring to follow the vintage theme although I think I need to practice that colouring style a bit more!
Do check out the stunners from the team for this first challenge and come back next week for another example of an anything goes with a decade creation!
Thanks for coming by my blog!

Saturated Canary Celebrations!

Phew, it's been a busy day today! It's been my daughter's taster day at high school (it just seems to be going so fast) and now I have 3 days of work ahead of me, just when that weather is starting to get the heat on again (yay!) I guess I will have to admire the sun through the window lol!
Anyway, its challenge time again over at saturated Canary and we have a wonderful challenge of CELEBRATIONS.
I just love the simplicity of that and knew just what image I wanted to use on my card..
I'm just loving the vibrant colours on this! I actually bought these MME papers for boys cards as they are just fab but don't they make just the cutest girl card too?! I have used flowers from WOC and Kort & godt. My awesome butterflies are from kays Kreative Korner, my sentiment is papertrey ink (love it!) and I have some matching colour bling on there.
Ava makes the most perfect image for a birthday card and I just loooooooved colouring her in these colours! I used my prismas of course (although I seem to be having issues blending at the mo can't decide if its my cardstock or printer!) and then I did a bit of machine stitching on all my pieces, it's been a while since I used the old machine!
have to say I love how this card turned out (so satisfying when it's like that isn't it?!) she may have taken me an age to colour but it was worth it!
Do check out the amazing creations from the rest of the uber talented team!
Thanks for coming by my blog again
