A festive thanks from Saturated Canary

Happy Christmas eve to you all! Its a busy time in our kitchen today. I do love to make everything from scratch for the dinner tomorrow and we will also be constructing our gingerbread house and baking cookies for santa today.
I hope that you are all enjoying the build up to Xmas!
At Saturated Canary we would just like to say a big festive thank you to all our followers and friends and have made some festive creations to sign off for 2013 and to wish you all a happy christmas here is mine..
I went for a very monochrome feel with this card staying with mostly green colours. I used Teresa collins papers along with my flowers from WOC, butterflies from Kays and sentiment from Waltzingmouse.
My darling christmas Angel has been coloured with prisma pencils and I have edged in forest moss DI.
There are some fab samples from the rest of my teamies on the challenge blog so do check them out and thanks so much for playing with us over this last year.
Thanks for coming by my blog and a massive
MERRY CHRISTMAS
to you all!

Christmas birthdays at Polkadoodles

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all prepared for the forthcoming festivities! Am I?! Am I heck!!! I am at work all day today, I then have a birthday to get through tomorrow, work again on Sunday and may actually start to think about Xmas on Monday lol!
Having said that, I think most of the pressies are bought and wrapped so it's just all the organizing and food bits to sort out.
Talking of birthdays, that is the theme at Polkadoodles and Studio 12 this time, our last for Xmas! Of course this is hugely appropriate for me as my eldest turns 13 tomorrow (how did that happen?!) I'm not sure I'm ready to be the mother of a teenage daughter just yet!
Here is the card I made for her....
She is very into pinks and girlie stuff so this suits her just right! I have used stunning papers from the Picknix CD rom (all sewn up collection) even though I have done the most fabulous job of covering them up again!! My cute tag is also from the CD and my flowers are mostly Kort & Godt with some Petal Lu thrown in. My cute sentiment tags are LOTV and my stunning butterflies from Kays.
My image is the gorgeous Walkies digi image from Emma Canning at Polkadoodles. I have coloured her with prisma pencils and I have machine stitched all my layers.
Do check out what the rest of the team have made and don't forget just because it's a Christmas birthday doesn't mean it has to be Christmas themed! I hope you can join us for our final challenge before Xmas.
Thanks for coming by my blog again friends.
Much love and big hugs

Saturated Canary and Help one now Legacy project

Hi everyone. I am back today with a special project to showcase another one of those darling charity digis that Krista has designed in Conjunction with Help one now  legacy project.
You can read more about the back packs of Hope fundraiser and donate for the digis HERE
When you donate the $3, please **forward** your Pure Charity email (it may not look like a receipt, but it needs to be the Pure Charity email sent to YOUR address after you donate) to krista7smith@yahoo.com , subject title BACKPACKS and you will be sent not only this cute digi but another cute boy digi and a combo of the boy and girl too!
Here is my card..
I have used Tilda papers in teal blues and pinks for my project with flowers from WOC and butterflies from Little snippets. My fabric "sisters" label is one I have had for years and my badge is one Krista sent me with some stamps a while ago. Can you also see the little tag popping out from the image? That is one that Krista tied to my stamps when she sent it (I do love to recycle) so the little heart is drawn by her too!
I have coloured my sweet image with prisma pencils and have added some foliage stamping from stempelglede around the edge in victorian velvet ink. This image reminded me so much of 2 sisters ready for an adventure or picnic!
Do check out the stunning examples from the rest of the team showcased over at Krista's blog and why not help us raise some well needed money and grab it now!
Thanks for coming by my blog again everyone!

All red and sparkly for Christmas

It's me again! Yes I know I have one week where I produce nothing and then the next week its all my DT projects! If you are looking for my Polkadoodles recipe book project click HERE.
Well it's our last challenge of the year at A creative Romance and we want to see your creations with sparkle for Christmas and over at Stampin for the weekend we want you to use some red so here is my card..
I have used papers from Teresa Collins here with some sparkle red glitter cardstock which I used my Tim Holtz on the edge snowflake die on. I used a nesties die to frame my image and used flowers mostly from WOC. My butterflies are of course Kays stunners and both my brads are from the matching Teresa Collins accessories.
We are sponsored by Saturated Canary at STFW and here I have used one of the gorgeous new release images Penny, isn't she lovely? I have coloured her with prisma pencils and have added some shabby green frantage around her for some extra sparkle.
And to think the idea of using so much red used to scare the bejeebees out of me!!
Do check out the stunners from the other 2 teams and make sure you join us for these super easy challenges!
Thanks for coming by my blog

Polkadoodles Christmas

Happy friday folks! I have a child off today on inset (one of the perils of now having 3 children in 3 different schools is all the different inset days!) so we are going to keep busy doing some things together today... possibly some crafting?!
Anyway I am here this morning with my creation for the new challenge at polkadoodles and Studio 12. We were set the theme of making a Christmas gift but the challenge is Anything goes for Christmas!
Here is another of my pay it forward makes...
I have made this for a friend, although I desperately need to make one of these for myself! It's a festive recipe book to keep all those holiday recipes in. I have used papers from the Here comes Christmas CD. My frame around my title and my tag at the side there are also from this CD. I have provided dividers for... The main event, Baked goods and Desserts. My lettering is SU stickers and my flowers are a range of flat paper ones that I have had in my stash for ages as I only ever seem to use the big roses now but that's not very practical for a book cover! My leaves were cut with a Marianne's die and I have used tattered rose crackle paint on all my edges.
My sweet gingerbread digi is also from the CD and does come pre coloured or you can colour him, like I did with prisma pencils and I added some buttons for dimension.
Here you can see the tag tied to the side a little better which is pre coloured and matches the rest of the elements perfectly.
We hope you can join us this time for the fab challenge!
Thanks for coming by my blog.

Saturated Canary Untraditional xmas colours

Hi again everyone!
Thanks for coming by to visit me yesterday, especially with my perpetual prolonged absence at the moment! Do we think I am going to be a better blogger in 2014?! Here's hoping!!!
We have a new challenge over at Saturated Canary today and this is again our last one for the year so that we can all concentrate on Xmas!
Our theme for you is Untraditional Christmas colours....
I do like the traditional colours of red and green at xmas but then I am also a fan of every other colour for xmas too so this challenge wasn't a hardship for me! I, of course, went all girlie with pinks and purples this time using papers from DCWV. Stunning flowers from Kort & godt, The ribbon girl and Mulberry crafts. My awesomely beautiful butterflies are of course from the fabulous kays Kreative Korner and my sentiment is a Waltzingmouse one.
My darling image Spritz has been coloured with prisma pencils and has stickles and glamour dust sparkle to his wings (I say he as he always seems like a boy even in pink lol) I have punched some snowflaks into the outer of my image and inked with dusty concord ink.
I apologise if my photos aren't great quality I took these before I ran off to work and the light still wasn't great at that time of the morning!
Thanks so much for coming by again friends!
I hope you can join us for this last challenge!
Big hugs

Midweek Magnolias - white christmas and Divas by design - Festive

Hello everyone! Gosh it's been a while again hasn't it?!
I have to say I had a really good craft fair, thanks for all your well wishes! It was fun and successful so I am glad that I did it and will be doing more in the future, although plenty of work is needed in the lead up!
Now it's all prep towards Christmas I guess! We have got our decorations up (although we haven't quite got our tree for the lounge sorted) and have still got a bit of christmas present shopping to do!
But it's our last challenge of the year at Midweek Magnolias! Yes, we are having a break for Christmas and will be back in the new year so I hope you can join us for our last challenge - white Christmas which means using snow or a snow image on your creations. I am also combining this with our new challenge over at divas by design which is Feeling festive and sponsored by Stamp and create.
These are Crate paper xmas papers, quite funky and fun. I have also used flowers from WOC and Kort & Godt, with butterflies from little snippets and a sentiment from my stash that I have had for years.
My image is an old one from Magnolia, in fact he was one of my first and I still think he is super cute! I have coloured him with prisma pencils and have added some stickles and glamour dust for his cute sparkly wings. I have used a magnolia snowflake stamp around the edge of my image too.
Do check out the creations from both my sets of teamies on this challenge there are some stunning creations to inspire you!
Thanks for coming by my blog

Stampin for the weekend feeling festive

Hello everyone. Well today I am going to show you lots of the goodies I have been making for the craft fair!
The new challenge over at Stampin for the weekend is FEELING FESTIVE which just gives me the freedom to show you all my festive goodies!
Here are my reindeer food pouches! I have made the tags with kraft card stock and a computer printed poem. I have added a little festive jingly bell and have stamped this LOTV vintage xmas postage across my tag in distress ink.
Here are my hot chocolate cones. each cone contains chocolate drink mix, chocolate chips and marshmallows, enough to make 3 drinks. I have used a computer generated tag and then layered over a digi image of a cocoa mug.
This is santa cookie mix (I love these) It is a dry layered mix which you just have to add egg, butter and vanilla to, to roll into balls and make cookies to put out for santa on xmas eve. I found the cute printables for the top as a free download from HERE. I then generated my own cooking instructions on the computer and tied them to the front of each jar.
And here are my sweet chilli sauce jars. They are based on the same design as my xmas chutney jars I showed a while back. I have used napkins for the tops, mini chalkboard stickers for the labels and have ted on a tag stamped with a waltzingmouse stamp and added a mariannes snowflake die cut.
I do have some other bits to sell at the craft fair but these are just a few examples of what I have been making!
I do hope you are feeling festive to join us in our challenge at Stampin for the weeekend.
Please check out the stunning creations from the rest of the team.
Thanks for coming by my blog.

Saturated Canary - Distress

Lol I had to laugh at the theme for the new challenge over at Saturated Canary this time. We all know what distress means but it's something that I feel our house has been in a lot of over the last couple of weeks!!! Yes distressing indeed!!
Anyway, no more of that now it's all forward to xmas!!!! So here is my distressing card..
Well as a complete turnaround from xmas I have made a christening card! A family member recently had a christening of their baby boy, which unfortunately we could not attend so we sent off this card for them.
Even though this is really a xmas digi I think it worked just fine for a christening card!
I used Tim holtz shabby chic papers along with flowers and lace from WOC, butterfly from Kays, large star stamp from SU and little letters from adornits. I of course used a tonne of crackle paint and distress ink for my distressed look.
I have coloured my SC image with prisma pencils, then added some stormy sky distress ink and shabby blue frantage around the edge.
Do check out the stunners from the rest of the team this time.
Thanks for coming by my blog and I do hope you can join us!
Big hugs

Midweek Magnolias - Anything but a card

Hi friends!
I'm really sorry I've been so absent of late, there really has been lots going on here to occupy my attentions.
The great new is that my eldest is in a new school now away from her previous troubles so we are really pleased about that and have now had a few of our stresses eased!
I'm still up to my eyes in producing goods for this craft fair at the end of the week, so once that is over I will be able to heave  sigh of relief too! If I was going to the craft fair s a card maker/ paper crafter it would be just fine as I have plenty of goods available to sell! But I am there as an edible goods seller, so I will show you some pictures soon of all the goodies I have been making to take with me!
Anyway, it's challenge time again at Midweek Magnolias. I missed the last challenge due to all the school stresses so my apologies and thanks to my fabulous teamies for being so supportive.
Our challenge this time is
ANYTHING BUT A CARD
So I chose to make a little gift bag..
This is perfect for a small gift (I know just what is going in here) the bag is just 4 and 1/2 inches high. I have used freebie kaisercraft papers from a xmas issue of simple cards and papercraft last year. Along with some flowers from WOC, butterfly from Kays and wooden embellishment from my stash. My snowflake border is Tim holtz and my sentiment LOTV.
I adore this Tilda she can be used all year round but I like her for xmas! I have coloured her with prisma pencils of course.
Here is a side view of the bag. I have used similar papers to the back but kept the sides plain.
Do check out the stunning creations from the rest of the team this time and we would love to have you join us for a chance at an awesome prize from Magnolia!
Thanks for coming by my blog!

Saturated Canary sketch time

Hello again everyone! I hope you are all well, I know a good few of you are pretty sick right now, hope the bugs go away! It's challenge time again over at Saturated Canary challenge and this time we have a fab sketch (do check it out at the challenge blog) I promise I have followed the sketch but as always have added LOTS of other bits too!!! Here is my pretty xmas card....
I have used wonderful Sugarplum papers from Black Market Paper Society along with a tonne of flowers from WOC, Prima and LLC. My pretty butterfly is Kays and my sentiment Waltzing mouse.
My beautiful Saturated Canary image Tidy up has been coloured with Prisma pencils and I have edged with a stempelglede stamp in dusty concord ink. She isn't a traditional xmas image but I think she suits it just fine, after all these aren't traditional xmas colours!
Do check out the rest of the teams creations with the fab sketch and we also hope you can join us this time.
I'm again sorry for my lack of posts. Things are stressed here with my eldest's schooling and bullying issues. She is now missing school due to all this and we are hoping a place will become available in a new school for her soon. I'm sure once that weight has been lifted from me my creating and blogging will happen more often :(
Thanks for coming by my blog everyone

Crafts too vintage Christmas - Monochromatic

Hi everyone, Sorry I'm a bit late with my post today! I worked all day yesterday and then when I got in I needed to decorate the house for halloween, decorate the kids lol and make tea, then we went out trick or treating for about 2 hours, bathed the kids to remove all the face paints and put everyone to bed, by which time I was shattered and forgot to write this post last night!
Then this morning I've been trying to sort out the halloween aftermath!
And just a few photos of our efforts...
Amelia - zombie cheerleader
Caleb - pumpkin monster
Hiolette - zombie school girl
But now on to the pretty and less scary stuff! It's a new monthly challenge over at Crafts too challenge you and we have a monthly challenge of Vintage Christmas and our twist for the first 2 weeks is Monochromatic, here is my make..
This is not my regular type of thing at all but I like it all the same! I used Nellies Vintage xmas images from crafts too and added some shabby white frantage around the outside. My Papers were Teresa Collins, I used flowers from WOC, a Mariannes snowflake die, a recycled tag, stunning butterfly from Kays kreative korner and this adorable hanging stocking border die from crafts too. Everything else is from my stash.
I went all shades of brown for my monochrome theme and used vintage photo distress ink and picket fence crackle paint for added vintageness!
Thanks for coming by my blog everyone, I hope you can join us for the challenge.
Big hugs
