Polkadoodles Oriental and SFTW anything but a card

Hey everyone! I'm here with a couple of little oriental projects today. I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of oriental crafting but this new CD from Polkadoodles is fabulous and really does make oriental so pretty!
There is a new Anything goes challenge on over at Polkadoodles and studio 12 and the DT are showcasing this new Dolly goes East CD available for pre order, here is my card...
My papers are all from the CD, such stunning colours. My sentiment tickets are also from the CD, as are my butterflies. I have printed my butterflies onto vellum and added glossy accents to their bodies and stickles sparkle to their tips to give them dimension. I have added flowers from WOC with my black foliage cut from a Mariannes die.
My beauitful image is one of 12 stunning girls on the CD and I have coloured her with prisma pencils. I have added some stamped foliage around the edge of my image in black ink with an SU stamp.
Do check out the other beautiful creations from the rest of the DT at Polkadoodles!
Over at Stampin for the weekend this time we have the challenge of anything but a card and I have decided to again make a gift bag. I have altered a basic one from paperchase here..
All of my papers are again from the new Dolly goes East CD at Polkadoodles, what a fab colour combo this teal and red make! The sentiment ticket, printed butterfly and image are all from the same CD. My flowers are WOC with some prima bling and butterfly border and black butterflies cut with joy crafts dies.
My beautiful image I have coloured again with prisma pencils and have used some liquid pearls on her hair. I have stamped some flowers with an SU stamp around the image in black ink.
Do check out the stunning non-card creations from my teamies over at SFTW and why not join in with us for a fab prize!
Thanks so much for coming by my blog everyone!
Big hugs to you all

A Framed Saturated Canary

Happy Thursday out there!!!
Today I have a little Saturated Canary Inspiration for you...
As I said previously, we are decorating Caleb's room and I am trying to put some little personal touches in there which includes this.
I am not so great with Male cards or male orientated crafting but I really wanted to make him a little picture for the wall so I jumped right in!
There is a bit of reflection on this as it is behind glass but I have used Bazill basics papers (love these) along with a recycled jeans tag, film strip from Tim Holtz and most other bits from my stash. The large arrow was stamped with a kaisercraft stamp and the letters were cut with Sizzix Cherish alphas. My postage mark stamp is whimsy.
My image I coloured with prisma pencils and I went back to the light-dark technique for this one! I'm still not confident on which way is best! This is Skateboarding by Saturated Canary, he is one of the digis that will be retired on 25th of this month and I think he is so good for boy crafts so grab him while you still can!
Here you can get a better view of the piece in the box frame ready to put on his wall!
Thanks so much for coming by my blog again everyone!

Winter Blues at Midweek magnolias and Anything goes at Divas

Hello to all of my friends out there in blogland!
Well, we have been keeping busy here with some decorating at home. I have a few crafty bits I am making for my son's room which I am hoping to show you in due course, along with the finished room hopefully!
But for now it's another challenge at Midweek Magnolias which is the theme of WINTER BLUES (Use Blue as your main colour) and a super easy ANYTHING GOES challenge over at Divas by Design today.
For this I have chosen to make a little lunch pack (altered gift bag)
My papers are Authentique with my flowers coming from WOC, butterflies from Little snippets and my cute peg is prima.
Now I did something a little different with my image today (I am not good with change!) I chose to colour from dark to light (so did all the dark shadows first) whereas I normally colour from light to dark. I am not totally sure to be honest. I don't think it turned out all that bad for a first attempt but I'm not sure if I went a bit heavy on the black! Tilda is of course coloured with prisma pencils and I have edged the image in a stempelglede stamp in stormy sky DI.
I don't know if I'm going to continue to practice this technique or continue as I was! I would love to have a crack with some markers one day but I simply can't afford those right now! Anyway folks do check out both the challenges above there are some stunning prizes to be won from Magnolia in Sweden and Crafty Devils so come and play along!
Thanks so much for coming by my blog again!

It's our first challenge of 2014 over at stampin for the weekend and after all those festive cards we were making toward the end of last year we wanted to have a change and make something on a BIRTHDAY theme. Over at A Creative Romance we have a sketch for you to follow today so I have teamed both of these together to make my card..
My gorgeous papers are from a new Prima pad I have along with my stunning joy crafts butterfly border die and over lapping butterflies. My flowers are Kort & godt and WOC. My little banners are cut with die namics dies and my chipboard corner is Make It Crafty.
My sweet image is a LOTV one that I have never used (tut tut!) and I have coloured her with prismas. I have also used a stempelglede foliage stamp in victorian velvet ink around the edges.
Do check out my teamies work from both the fabulous teams they really have some stunning offerings to show you and please join in for fabulous prizes!

Midway for midweek magnolias and Ribbons at Divas

Hello friends! It's brrrrr cold here but then that's just me I feel the cold so much and it's not like we have the temperatures or the snow that has hit the states recently!
I don't think I would manage that too well (she says in her blanket, hat and gloves - yes I am indoors!)
Anyway it's card showing time and we have a new stash challenge over at Midweek Magnolias that we are halfway through now and our new challenge at Divas by Design is to use ribbons as we are sponsored by the fabby Crafty Ribbons store!!
I didn't really get much new stash for but these stunning butterflies from Kays are new along with my pretty pins. My papers are a mixture from my stash and my flowers are from WOC and Kort & Godt. My cute sentiment is inkadinkadoo.
This is the first time I have used this adorable Nurse Tilda, I know terrible right?!, and I have coloured her with prisma pencils. She is just perfect for get well cards! I have used a stempelglede flourish stamp in stormy sky distress ink around the edges.
This card is for a wonderful DT friend who has recently been in hospital. I do hope she is much better now!
Thanks so much to all you lovely friends for coming by my blog!

Saturated Canary Inspiration

Helloooo everyone!
Well it has been a while hsn't it! I think I may be getting settled back into normal life after Christmas now! I still have remnents of the holidays lurking around the house and then we decided that now would be a good time to totally redecorate and furnish our son's room! but everyone seems to have settled back into their work/school routine although my work routine didn't change over Christmas!
But, as always, when I take an extended break from my crafting my mojo seems to up and leave me (probably because I neglect it too much) so I have been trying to get back into it. I would say Pinterest would be a good source of inspiration but I get sidetracked with ideas for my sons room (I've already printed off subway art for the walls and have fabric to make bunting!)
But nothing helps my mojo more than colouring a Saturated Canary image! I needed to make a card for a wonderful friend that is leaving work, we will all be sad to see her go, so I wanted to make her a special card..
Love, love, love these colours! These are Prima alla prima papers with prima butterflies, memory box border die, prima bling and flowers from WOC, Petal Lu and Kort & Godt with jute, lace and seam binding all coming from WOC too.
My fabulous image is one of the ones that came with complete cardmaking issue 47 and she has been coloured with prisma pencils. I have used waltzingmouse sentiment stamps and have used a stempelglede stamp around the edge of the image in vintage photo ink.
Do check out the Saturated Canary inspiration on the BLOG from the other DT members and why not share your Saturated canary creations over on our facebook page.
Thanks so much for coming by my blog everyone!

Fave make of 2013 - Polkadoodles

Hi everyone and welcome to my first post of 2014 and it's our fave makes of 2013 over at Polkadoodles this week!
One of my fave makes was the birthday card that I made for daughter at the end of last year. It was my last make with polkadoodles of 2013 so you could scroll down and see the details! Hence I figured I had better choose a different make so went for the Noel bunting I made instead...
I made this using papers and pre coloured images from the Home for christmas CD. I also used the baubles from the CD to make little dangly accessories on the bottom of the bunting!
I hope you can show us what your fave makes of 2013 were.
I'm trying to get the house sorted post xmas and get those kiddies back to school so I can get back into the crafty habit!
Thanks for coming by my blog and see you soon with some new makes!
Big hugs
