An Autumn fairy

Happy weekends folks! I know, crazy me posting on a sunday! Well I am still at work and this is scheduled but I just had to get playing when I got this adorable fairy digi from Krista over at Saturated Canary so I had a bit of crafting time to myself on friday eve and this is what I made...

I have used the sketch over at Digi doodle shops best this wk and have again used stunning papers from the oh so wonderful Black market paper society. I have painted my edges with old paper crackle paint and didn't even use the sewing machine this time!!! My gems and cheesecloth are from stash. My butterfly is e crafts and my flowers are a mix of Prima, wild orhids and mulberry crafts. My bottle is 7 gypsies filled with micro beads (a little embellie inspiration I got from the lovely Bonnie) and my sentiment is SU.

My beautiful image is likely to be my most fave SC image yet and she has been coloured with Prismas and glittered on her wings with glamour dust.

A new sketch at a gem of a challenge

Good morning blogging friends! Well I'm off to work again (boo hoo) still don't feel 100% but it's work and I have probably only phoned in sick 3 or 4 times over the entire 8 years that I have worked there so why break a habit?!
I hope everyone else has some fun planned for the weekend?! Here to kick start us into that weekend is another fabulous sketch over at A gem of a challenge and it's a corker why not pop across and see it? We are also asking you to accompany the sketch with some stitching real or faux. Here is my interpretation...

I have used papers from my age old DCWV xmas stack and have used a doily from poppyscabin along with lace, seam binding and ribbon slider from Wild orchids. My flowers are a range from Wild orchids, Mulberry crafts and a local craft shop. My sentiment is held in place by a Holtzy memo pin.

My sweet image is santa Kaya from Pink Gem designs and she has been coloured with prisma pencils. My sentiment ticket is also a Pink Gem stamp and I have edged them all in worn lipstick distress ink. All my edges have been given a bit of snowtex and then machine stitched. Kaya has also had some fun flock added to her fluffy dress edges, cuffs etc.

Just because I felt like it!

Hi everyone! I decided to make a card just because I felt like it today! No DT card, no commission just something I wanted to do. To be honest I have plenty of DT work needing to be done but I feel like my mojo needs a bit of a massage with some playing about. I am getting used to the antibiotics so I managed to have some fun...

I have followed the sketch over at Stamp with fun for this card and have used some of my all time fave papers from the black market paper society available here. I have used flowers from Prima, mulberry crafts, Wild orchid crafts, kort & Godt and a local craft shop (do you think I may have an excess of flowers lol!) My stick pin is a crown pin from Wild orchids along with some beads of my own. The pearls and cheesecloth are all from stash, my lace is kaisercraft, my sentiment is SU and my fab embroidered butterfly is little snippets.

My beautiful image is another one of those stunners from Krista at Saturated Canary, this is sleeping beauty and she has been coloured with prisma pencils. I have painted all the edges of my papers in Old paper crackle paint and I have machine stitched.

SFTW sketch challenge

Hi everyone! Wow this week has flown for me (prob cos I have to work again at the weekend!) Waves to all those lucky enough to be at the NEC! I have promised myself to do more crafting and yet again haven't managed! I have tried a bit more Zumba though much to the disgust of my calf muscles, I'm clearly just a glutton for punishment!
Onto our challenge over at Stampin for the weekend which is this time sponsored by the super fab Simon says stamp and this time we have a sketch for you, why not pop over and check it out?! Here is my card, I have rotated the sketch on its side and tweaked a little...

I have used these stunning Echo park be mine papers (really gonna have to get some more of these) and have used this adorable image from Make it crafty, their mangas are so fabulous! My tags have been cut with nesties and my image sits in a nellie snellen frame. My pearls and cheesecloth are from stash and my flowers are a range from Wild orchids, mulberry crafts and a local craft shop. My sentiment is SU sitting in a TH card holder. My butterfly is recollections.

My sweet image has been coloured with prismas and edged in worn lipstick and antique photo distress inks. I have machine stitched my background papers as well as inking the edges.

Lashing of sparkle at Creative inspirations

Hello everyone, How are we all?! Did everyone have fun halloweens? We had a mass of trick or treaters out and rapidly ran out of sweets by 7pm! The kids had a great time going from house to house for about an hour and still brought home a tonne of sweets. I honestly think they could have easily stayed out longer and brought home twice as much if I had let them! However my extremely long and tiring weekend at work meant I was far too tired to stay out for too long!
On to our challenge this wk over at Creative inspirations and we are yet again sponsored by the brilliant Simon says stamp! This time our challenge is to use lashings of sparkle! Well I was a late bunny again and Ugh I hate taking photos with the flash but here it is..
I have followed the sketch over at sketch and stash, my new stash are these fabulous Holly Jolly papers from my minds eye and this stunning xmas digi from saturated Canary (again lol!) I have sparkled around the edge of every layer of paper, my image, my sentiment and my flowers (the ones that aren't snowtexed) but I'm not sure how sparkly my card looks in this photo! I have used lace, ribbon and cheesecloth from stash with my flowers coming from Mulberry crafts and Wild orchids.
My beautiful image has been coloured with prismas and I have edged in vintage photo ink. The flower stamp around the edge is SU and the xmas postmark is a 7 gypsies stamp. My sentiment stamp is also SU. The stickles I have used around the image and paper are lime green.

A gem of a challenge cold and frosty

Hello friends! What a busy week I have had with the kids off for half term and now I get to top it off with a 10 hr shift at work today and an 11 hour shift tomorrow due to someone being off sick, oh well money towards christmas I guess!
Today sees another challenge over at A gem of a challenge and this one has been set by the lovely Janet who wants us to make something with a theme of "Cold and Frosty" and guess what I made another shaker card lol, I'm suddenly loving these!

I have followed the fabulous sketch over at Sweet sketch Wednesday for my card and have used the sublime Tim Holtz shabby chic papers (Yes Laurie I know they are only for stroking but I just can't help myself!!!) I have used snowtex on all the corners for a distressed look and machine stitched. My ribbon and pearls are from stash, my sentiment is waltzingmouse and I have used a magnolia doo hickey die in the form of the swirl and marianne Ds snowflakes die cuts under my flowers. My stunning flowers are mostly from mulberry crafts with the odd bits from a local craft shop.

My sweet image is Angel Chloe from Pink Gem Designs and she has been coloured with prisma pencils. I have found these amazing wood flourish frames from Kaisercraft, I'm also adoring all their wooden flourish range at the mo! I used some acrylic paint mixed with crackle glaze (prob will prime it next time) and then after it had dried used snowtex around the edges. My clear front is OHP sheet and my shaker bits are white and silver glitter.
I have also snowtexed my flowers and stickle glittered my die cuts.

Creative inspirations Orange, Purple and Black combo

Hi again folks! Well the head doesn't seem to be so bad today so maybe that's a good sign! Having said that the kids have been driving me insane which has probably not helped my head at all! I absolutely love them dearly and love having them home with me but it would be great if they could just stop arguing and bickering constantly! I guess that is the perils of having 3 of differing ages you will never please them all!
However it is challenge time again at creative inspirations and this time we have a colour challenge. We are sponsored by the fab Crimson cloud and this week we would like to see you use Orange, Purple and Black. Of course this would generally conjure up halloween cards but since when have I been one to keep on trend!

I have used papers from papermania capsule collection. My image is another stunning Saturated canary digi called Gothica, she seemed perfect for this colour combo! My lace, ribbon, button and pearl are from stash. My sentiment ticket is whimsy and my flowers are wild orchids, my glass bottle is 7 gypsies with some micro beads inside from stash.

I have coloured my image with Prisma pencils and have inked all the edges of my layers with dusty concord ink. I have machine stitched all my layered elements too and added pearls to my petal edged cardstock.

I am entering this into Saturated canary stitching, Crafty catz happy birthday, Stampin with the dragon buttons and bows, Simon says stamp anything goes and paper sundaes sundae bar I used black, flowers and bling.

Creative card crew falling for you

Hello everyone! What a weekend I have had! I had a busy couple of shifts at work as per the norm but managed to get hit in the head which resulted in a very sore bump and possibly even a mild concussion! My head is still aching now and is so sore to touch! I'm sure it will get better soon, thank goodness I have a fringe to cover my unsightly bump!
Onto our challenge today though over at Creative card crew and our theme is "falling for you" so love, marriage that sort of thing. We are lucky to be sponsored by the fab Paper shelter who have donated us images to use. Sorry for my photos it was getting dark when I took them!

I decided to make a shaker card (my first can you believe!) I actually loved it and will definately be making more of these in the future they are so cute! I have used papers from My minds eye lost and found collection along with cheesecloth and ribbon from stash. Lace and flowers from Wild orchids with some flowers coming from a local craft store

I have coloured my sweet image with prisma pencils and used a nellie snellen die to cut the frame and acetate. My shaker bits are pink and white glitter. I have some micro beads around somewhere and will def be popping them into a shaker card soon for some extra noise lol!

I have cut my tabs with nesties fancy tags and added glittery pearls. My simple sentiment is Hanglar. From this angle you can see the popped up frame for the shaker.

SFTW spooky challenge with Pink Gem designs

Hidey ho campers!!! I hope you are all well out there! I had harvest assembly at the school yesterday so lots of singing surrounded by packet foods and tins! It is my favourite school assembly and it was the last one where all my 3 kiddies were together as next septemnber my eldest goes to high school!
Enough of my waffling though it's challenge time at Stampin for the weekend again and this time we have a "spooky" challenge for you sponsored by the fab Pink Gem designs. I decided to make another treat holder, this time a box.

I have used papers from Echo park apothecary collection again and have also used this super cute digi Halloween Josh from Pink Gem designs. I have layered the top with black tulle, a metal corner from Tim Holtz and flowers from Prima and wild orchids.

My sweet image has been coloured with prismas, cut with nesties and edged in spiced marmalade distress ink. He is such a cutee!.

My sentiment is from a fab range at Waltzingmouse stamps (just love their halloween sets!) and I have made it into a tag hanging on my twine bow to which I have added some antique metal spacer beads, pearls and some acrylic charms bought from e bay.
